fireworks!

Oh my, it is my 5th and last final week as GD at Cupcake Crafts Challenge. Boohoo! Am sad to be leaving these wonderful friendly gals as led by the very fluffy Faye.

Today the challenge is: LEAVES AS THE MAIN FOCUS.

I must admit, I am not sure I am liking my project here.

I have used My Minds Eye ~ Alphabet Soup papers.

My image is Magnolia ~ Tilda Sparkles and I have coloured her with copics and stickles.

The Witching Hour

Another Halloween creation! This week we have a MAGICAL MYSTICAL theme at Crafts 4 Eternity. I've made an album for The Witching Hour. Well, I know nothing about such things, so I turned to google to find out when 'The Witching Hour' actually is. The answer is, it varies depending on which website you are looking at.

I've used paper from My Mind's Eye ~ Haunted collection which is all velvety and luxurious.

I made a clock using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz Weathered Clock Die. I cut it out of glittering black cardstock.

I've added a spider border from the glitter cardstock using my Martha Stewart punch.

Another view of the clock.

vintage tobogganing

My fourth week as GD at Cupcake Craft Challenges, sees us with a challenge of DENIM & LACE.

I've used really ancient papers for my piece: My Mind's Eye ~ Frost. As soon as I saw these papers in my stash, I knew I wanted to use Magnolia ~ Waiting Tilda with her Sledge. I bought these stamps when they first came out back in 2008 and this is the first time I have inked them up! Also, another first, this is the first time I have masked two images. I don't know why, pure laziness probably, but now I am hooked, so expect more.

I've coloured them with copics and added some stickles.

For the 'denim' I have used these little blue jean flowers, but had to grunge them up with ink and stickles so as to blend in with the rest of the design.

Lots of lace, including on the tag.

Some distressing of a Pink Paislee ticket.

all hallows eve

Hello! Oh my word, the weeks are whizzing by and already here I am at my 3rd week as Guest Designer for Cupcake Craft Challenges and so enjoying my time here. This week the challenge is BUTTONS & BOWS.

Now please bear with me on the photos, we may be enjoying a beautiful, beautiful October, the best since records began BUT it does not make it easy to photograph!

Once again, I could not resist decorating one of these cute little paperbags, this time a kraft bag and making a mini notebook to pop inside. And ... guess what? ... it is nearly Halloween.

Once again I've used papers from the Pink Paislee ~ Twilight collection.

For the bag, I created a little tag with Tilda with Thistle. As usual, I coloured her with copics and added some stickles.

I created a little notebook to go inside the bag, with more buttons and bows.

I must admit, I am absolutely rubbish at tying bows. I never could tie a shoe lace properly, so what you see here are glorified knots.

Here are the backs.
I am including this at the following challenges:

i got one ... bye bye blackberry ...

... hello iPhone 4S.

I have used a BlackBerry for years now, but having become an Apple convert and not now allowing any gadget into my home unless it starts with 'i', I knew that my next phone would be an iPhone.

So this purchase has got nothing to do with BlackBerry going silent on me for three days this week. It was actually quite nice not to hear it constantly buzzing every five minutes and I could actually get some work done. My trusty iPad was still delivering my emails, so at least I didn't have to use the archaic method of 'logging on' everytime I wanted an email update.

I got a white one ...

About this time last year, my existing BlackBerry started to fall apart at the seams with the scrolly ball constantly falling out, but I decided to hold on to it so as to get the new iPhone 5. Not knowing I would have to wait a year and it still wouldn't be the 5!

Anyway, I have this one now and I love it! I snuck out of the office this morning to pop over to the Apple Store in Covent Garden to get one. I just love this store, they are so helpful and friendly in here. All the staff are really well trained, they run such a slick operation. I took my camera with me to take some photos, but in all the rush completely forgot.

When I got there, there were easily 400 people in the queue and I thought that I would be there all day. As I approached the end of the queue, I was asked if I was just buying a handset or upgrading my contract. 'Upgrading my contract' I said. Then I was told I could just go straight in to the store.

Woohoo! I couldn't believe my luck! So I was immediately ushered through and assigned an assistant. As you walk into the store on launch day there are about 20 Apple people clapping and cheering you in (very loudly!) and they do the same when you are on the way out again. So embarrassing, but so lovely how they make each customer feel so welcome and grateful that they have shopped there, you can't help but grin at their enthusiasm.

I love how my iPhone is a mini version of my iPad and so much more.

I love the thing called 'Siri'. you can ask him questions and he talks back to you.

You can highlight an email and he will read it to you.

You can dictate an email or text and they will type it for you.

You can say send it to so and so and they will send it for you.

If something pops into your head and you think I must do that and then usually promptly forget, now I can just talk into my phone and ask it to remind me to do something at a certain time and it will schedule a reminder, whilst it talks back and clarifies that it is doing what it asks you to do. Soooo funny.

Love it.

Thank you Steve. R.I.P.

P.S. Yes, I will still be looking to get the iPhone 5 when it comes out, I am a marketing man's dream. LOL.

Thank you for looking.

Empoisoner ... Poisoner

'Tis the season ... Halloween that is. I just love to create for Halloween although I no longer do anything on the day, I used to love dressing up and going trick or treating as a kid.

OK, this is my second week guest designing for Cupcake Craft Challenges where the challenge is uhmmmm ... HALLOWEEN!

For this one I have dug out one of my old Halloween Tildas, but never inked before.

For this project I have used papers from the Pink Paislee ~ Twilight collection.

For my Halloween tree I have used the Magnolia Tree Die. I love this, so versatile.
My image is Magnolia ~ Sitting Witch Tilda coloured with copics and added stickles.

Prima flowers and a metal skull brad complete.

O, Frosty the Snowman

Hello! Did we all have a sunny and beautiful weekend? I wish it was like this all year round.

Today I am coming at you as guest designer for Cupcake Craft Challenges for the month of October. Thank you so much for having me, I am very pleased to be here.

The challenge this week is BLACK AND WHITE CHRISTMAS!

For my entry I have decorated a paper bag and then made a matching notebook to pop inside, to make a little Christmas pressie.

Here is the front.

For my papers I used Teresa Collins ~ Christmas Home: Christmas Damask papers, although I used the side with the snowflakes on it!

For the cover of the bag I made a tag using a Black Ranger Craft Tag. I rubbed some Picket Fence ~ Distress Stain over it and ran it through the Snow Flurries Texture Fades embossing folder. I then brayered the raised snowflakes with Fresco Finish ~ Snowflake paint and inked the edges with black ink. I've not done this before and so was quite pleased with the finished tag.

The image is Magnolia ~ Frosty the Snowman with Snowflake which I coloured with copics. This is my 100th Magnolia posting!!

For the front of the notebook, I just used an uncoloured version of the image.

Here is the back:

For the back I have used Magnolia ~ O Frosty the Snowman (text) stamp.

I am going to pop this in at the following challenges:
Thank you for looking.
