fun

Finally I am back into crafting mode. I got caught up in the 'volcanic ash crisis' and found myself stranded in Spain. Finally got back home after a 32 hour trip and almost four days late. Fun! Especially as it only took a couple of hours to fly there! This weekend was the first chance I've had to craft in a couple of weeks and it was heavenly!!

So, this card I made just for 'fun' and am entering it into the following challenges:

'die cut shapes': Creative Belli.

'make a splash': Quixotic Challenges.

'anything goes': Just Magnolia.

'April Fools (well it felt like it at times!) fun or humorous': Crafty Calender Challenge.

Papers: Fancy Pants ~ Summer Soireé.

Chipboard 'fun' and ribbon slide: We R Memory Keepers.

sweet dreams

The challenge over at Crafts 4 Eternity has now switched to 9pm on a Friday. I am a little late posting my DT entry this week as I haven't been able to upload any photos until now.

The recipe this week is:

The sketch.

Use foil.

Add a tag.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

'On the spot': My Time to Craft.

'A card for a child': Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

'Buttons': C.R.A.F.T Challenge although I have only used one so I hope that counts.

'Embossing': Lots To Do.

Papers: K & Co ~ Urban Rhapsody.

The 'sweet dreams' sentiment is a K&Co foil sticker from the same K&Co paper range. It was a bit bright for my liking, so I toned it down my rubbing on some stickles. When that was dry, I glazed it with Rock Candy crackle paint.

I cut the star using my Cricut out of grungepaper, ran it through a star embossing folder, painted it with crackle paint of the type you are not supposed to heat up to make it dry quicker, but I did heat it up so it didn't crackle. I went over it again with the Rock Candy. I embossed the button with gold and stitched it to the star with gold thread. I've also added some gold embossing to the edges of the papers.

Image: Penelope Johnson ~ Sweet Dreams. I love these new PJ images, so cute. As usual, I've coloured her with copics and added some stickles.

I was concentrating so much on working the foil into my project that I forgot about the tag until the last minute. I stuck a scrap of the patterned paper to some grunge paper, cut out a tag shape, embossed with gold and added a gold embossed flower and ... voilá!

easter bunny

I hope that everyone has had a lovely long bank holiday weekend. It has been nice to relax a bit and do some crafting. For those of you who still have the rest of the week off, lucky, lucky you!

I made this Easter card a while back, but was waiting for Easter to post it and of course almost forgot! With it still being Easter Monday, I guess I'm just in time.

I'm going to enter this into two challenges which have a theme of 'Easter':

Papers: Imaginisce ~ For Peep's Sake.

Image: Magnolia ~ Tilda with Bunny.

sweet one

Firstly, I must apologise for being awol on visiting your blogs this past month, I have just had a lot on and haven't had any time to surf the net. I will be catching up during the coming week. Thank you for those that have forgiven me and taken the time to comment, it is very much appreciated.

Ooh, almost forgot, today is Easter Day, so Happy Easter to all. I guess the reason why I forgot that it was Easter, is because I've already eaten my egg. I mean, come on, if someone gave you an Easter egg on Thursday evening, would it still be knocking around now? NO! Hmmmm, I did hint last night that I had eaten my egg and so wouldn't have anything chocolatey to eat come the actual day and being a choc-a-holic and it being Easter day, you'd expect to have some chocolate. I've typed up this post in advance, so will wait with eager anticipation!!

On to today's card which is my DT post for Crafts 4 Eternity. Another fabulous recipe, which goes as follows:

The sketch (which is fab, fab, fab).

Use an Easter image or theme.

Include buttons.

I've just had a quick (? make that an hour or so and it is already gone 2 in the morning) rummage around the challenges and am entering this into:

'Anything goes': Papertake Weekly and Crafty Creations.

This card is quite sparkly and if you click on the photos, it may show up in the close ups.

Papers: Imaginisce ~ For Peep's Sake.

I used a Martha Stewart crown border punch. Had it for an age but never yet used.

Hopefully you can see the glitter better in this picture. This is Sarah Kay ~ How sweet you are. I coloured her with copics and added some stickles.

Lots of machine stitching going on.

For my buttons, I added some tiny flower rub-ons to them before stitching them on. So cute!

Thank you for visiting.
