peach baby

The Sketch: Cutie Sunday. Although I had to make the motif section a bit bigger because of the punch I used.

Other challenges:

There isn't a lot to say about this one, except the photos make the colours look very washed out. It is more vibrant irl!

Papers: Graphic 45 ~ Baby 2 Bride Collection. I've inked the edges and machine stitched them.

The splodges on the 'seat' that Tilda is sitting on is where I've glimmer misted the papers, just to let you know it isn't a coffee stain. I really am beginning to dislike that glimmer mist stuff intensely - I've already ruined one piece today that I had spent hours working on.

Punches: Fiskars ~ Antique Elegance and a Martha Stewart scallop punch.

Flowers: Bo Bunny with added glimmer mist.

Image: Magnolia ~ Pink Tilda with striped tights coloured with copics.

Thank you for looking.

live love laugh

Challenges:

'Freestyle (anything you like)': A Spoon Full of Sugar.

'Butterflies': Quixotic Challenges.

'Flowers': Cute Card Thursday.

'Summer in winter': Dutch Dare.

'A butterfly, a flower and a die-cut': Stampin' B's Design Team. (I have assumed my acrylic cover is a die-cut.)

I have made a chipboard front and back cover and also added a thick acrylic cover. You can see the effect better in this photo:

I have applied an orange butterfly and white scroll rub-on to the front cover. The 'live love laugh' is also a rub-on applied to the inner chipboard cover.

Papers and rub-ons: Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Delightful Collection.

It might seem quite plain but I didn't want to cover those beautiful papers up. I've rounded the edges with my round-it-all.

Image: Magnolia ~ Tilda as Butterfly, coloured with copics and stickles added.

I created her antennae with beading wire and just stuck them to the back of the image. It seemed a much more neater effect than cutting round the card antennae.

You can't see them on the other side of the acrylic either, as I stamped the image onto another piece of cardstock, which I cut out and stuck down on the other side of the acrylic. You can just see a glimpse of this in the 4th photo above.

supporting material ... joy

I woke up this morning with three simple layouts for mini books in my head, complete with which papers to use and everything! LOL! So of course I had to get started on them, even though I was supposed to be doing something else today.  This is the first of them that I have managed to complete, the other two are still in my head.

Competitions:

'Punch it' (to use punches): Creative Card Crew and Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

'Metallics': Gingersnap Creations.

I think the idea for this came when I was rummaging through my stash and found various of packets of chipboard words. I had a 'thing' of buying them when I first started this hobby and now of course they are just lying there unused ... until now.

Papers: K & Co ~ Margo Flowering Brocade Flat Paper.

I have rounded the edges with my round-it-all and embossed with gold embossing powder.

Cardstock: My Mind's Eye ~ Life Stories.

I cut out the 'supporting material' section of one of the papers, used a Martha Stewart scallop punch along the bottom edge and then embossed with gold embossing powder.

Chipboard word: K & Co ~ Margo: Joy.

Again, I added some gold embossing to the chipboard word.

I've applied gold ink to the edges of the pages to give it a nice aged look.

I then bound it with my bind-it-all and added a piece of gold lace.

cherished moment

Due to the gorgeously sunny weather we've had today, I've come over all summery! It's so nice to think that we have those lovely Spring and Summer days ahead for us to look forward to.

The image that I used is one that I saw a lot of when I first started creating. I bought the stamp at the time but never got around to using it. Having a rummage through my stamp box, I came across her and so here she is. No doubt you will be seeing me creating with her again soon.

The sketchPapertake Weekly.

Other challenges:

'New year, new products': Creative Inspirations. I used my new sentiment stamp, bought in the sales.

'Keeping warm + the option of texture': Crafty Calendar Challenges. I have opted for warm colours and creating a warm summery feel.

Papers: Crate Paper ~ Lillian: Enchanted, Home and Harmony.

Flowers and buttons from stash.

Sentiment: Bo Bunny.

Image: Elisabeth Bell ~ Daisy coloured with copics.

i.love.you

The sketch: Sketch & Stash. I have used new papers, an old unused stamp and buttons that I've had forever, so tried to use a few up here :-)

'New': Fussy & Fancy Friday. I have used new papers.

'Add stitching': Just Us Girls.

'Shabby chic' (or my interpretation of it): Simon Says Challenge.

'Texture': Crafty Creations.

'Use embossing powder': Gingersnap Creations.

Papers and sentiment: Bo Bunny ~ Persuasion: Blooms and My Sweet. I have embossed the edges of each layer and added some machine stitching.

Image: Magnolia ~ Tilda with Birdcage, coloured with copics, added some stickles and layered onto a Hambly acetate.

Buttons from my stash were hand sewn on and I added some bobble trim and lace also from my stash.

sensational at 70

I made this card for my Mother's 70th Birthday. (An age I'm still trying to get my head around ... LOL!)

The photos aren't that great as I had to take at night ready for mailing out immediately!

The Sketch (which I turned around): The Sweet Stop.

Other challenges:

'Distressing': Creative Card Crew.

'New beginnings': Papertake Weekly. I have interpreted this as a new decade of life.

'Glitter or rhinestones': Creative Belli. I have used glitter.

'Feature metal or metal elements': PaperPlay Challenges. I have gold embossing.

'L is for layering': ABC Challenge. I think I have a few of these.

'New': The Craft Garden. I have used new papers and stamp.

Papers: Prima ~ Wink: Arbor Rose and Baby Blues.

I have done a lot of gold embossing on the edges and layering and a bit of machine stitching.

Punch: Fiskars ~ Antique Elegance Circle Border Punch.

I used shaped scissors for cutting the edges of the frame that Tilda is sitting on.

Image and banner (on which I wrote the sentiment): Magnolia from the new collection.

I coloured Tilda with copics and added stickles to give her some sensational sparkle!

Chipboard numbers: Prima. I embossed the edges with gold.

Happy Birthday!

it's that ole devil called love again ...

'... gets behind me and keeps giving me the shove again,
putting rain in my eyes, tears in my dreams,
and rocks in my heart.

****

when he sings that sorry song, i'm just gonna tag along,
with that ole devil called love.'

The sketch: StampARTic. The challenge here is also 'cheap crafting'. I may have a few embellishments but I didn't buy anything new for this, I just used stuff from my stash :-)

Other challenges:

'Something beginning with 'b': One Stop Craft Challenge. I have used brads and blossoms.

'Favourite colour combo': Everybody-Art-Challenge. Mine is definitely red, white and black ... at the moment, although it is a colour combo I have loved all my life. Red is a colour that I have really struggled to colour with, but I keep practising with it because I love the dramatic effect it gives and I can't let a little thing like not being able to do something, beat me.

'Stamp with another use': Magnolia Down Under Challenge. I have used a halloween stamp for valentine's (couldn't you just guess?).

My finished piece was originally 8" x 8" but I placed it onto a piece of red 12 x 12 bazzil to photograph it. I've now decided that I like the big red border so much that I am going to incorporate the bigger card. Just wanted to explain a) why it doesn't look square and b) why you can see the layer sticking up at the bottom.

Papers: Making Memories ~ Wedding. The heart shape has stickles around the edges.

Clock: Heidi Swapp stamp which I embossed and added stickles to the edges.

Lace (at top of heart): dabbed with silver paint and stickles added.

Flowers: sprayed with Glimmer Mist ~ Old Lace. If you only buy one colour of glimmer mist (as it is quite pricey), I would recommend you buy this one as it is so versatile.

Red glitter brads.

Images: Magnolia ~ Devil Tilda from the 'So Spooky' collection and the heart from the new collection. Both have been coloured with copics and stickles added. I layered the heart and added a 'Love' rub-on to the middle.

pink wedding

I was asked to make this and the layout is loosely based on something I've made before, but with some added differences.

I am entering this into the following challenges which are all 'new beginnings' as a wedding is a new life beginning:
Also By the Cute & Girly where the theme is 'new'.

Papers: Basic Grey ~ Infuse.

Image: Elisabeth Bell ~ Willow as Bride, coloured with copics.

As with all new beginnings, the door opens ...
